Hanro Smitsman
Hanro Smitsman has directed various films and series that have been acclaimed in the Netherlands and abroad. He graduated in film directing at the Amsterdam Academy for film with a nomination Academy Award “Best Student Film”.
Hanro has gained many prizes such as the ‘Golden Bear’ at the Berlinale for his short film ‘Raak’. For his first television film ‘Skin’ (2008) he received a nomination for an ‘Emmy award/best actor’. And his first feature film Schemer (2010) was considered the best film of 2010 by the Dutch Film Critics.
He also directed compelling series such as “Vlucht HS13”, “Ik weet wie je bent” and “Commando’s”. All series have been sold to major broadcasting services.
